Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Jisei application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Jisei is a digital wellness application designed to help users manage their screen time and digital habits. The app provides tools including app and website blocking, commitment locks, mirror confrontation, and progress tracking.

Eligibility

Jisei is intended for users aged 18 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

How the App Works

Jisei uses Apple's Screen Time API and Family Controls framework to block apps and websites at the system level. When you enable blocking or set a commitment period, these restrictions are enforced by the operating system. Important things to understand:

• Commitment locks are designed to be difficult to disable — this is intentional and a core feature of the app
• The mirror confrontation feature uses your camera in real-time only — no images are saved
• Blocking effectiveness depends on Apple's Screen Time framework and may not cover all content in all scenarios

User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your use of Jisei and any decisions you make regarding your digital habits. Jisei is a tool to support your goals — it is not a substitute for professional advice, therapy, or treatment for addiction.

Subscription & Payments

Jisei offers a free tier and a Pro subscription. Pro features are available through a free trial period, after which a recurring subscription fee applies. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and billing practices.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies

Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding associated with Jisei are the intellectual property of the Jisei team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the application.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Jisei is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that blocking will be 100% effective in all circumstances. We make no warranties regarding the results you may achieve using the app.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jisei and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes but is not limited to damages related to blocked content, commitment periods, or any reliance on the app's functionality.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of Jisei after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
